The Journey of the First Historical Pepe on the Blockchain
--
As with much in the Cryptocurrency Industry, stories and narratives evolve with the passing of time. The First, Original Pepe on the blockchain is no different. It has been a whirlwind of a last month and a half for the community. We had found our Floor and were building the steady beginning of an uptrend, community was settling in & spreading the word on socials hard, the overall market was getting its first taste of prices just outside of the bear market’s accumulation zone… And then most of the community woke up to new token mint out of nowhere which inflated our supply. This began the saga of discovering the why’s of & how this happened. This article will detail what we have found out, facts & data to dyor, and what we have pieced together on the history and potential options in the future.
Background:
The Pepe Project was actually part of the WOJAK.Farm project that was built…. a defi-farming/mining ecosystem. WOJAK, PEPE, CHAD. From what is seems, one would buy the Wojak to stake, get Pepe in rewards, swap to Chad to mine & sell for Eth…. Pepe was to be used to regulate inflation/tax(?) is how I interpret…. Looking at the remaining wojak.farm twitter/X accounts it seems like planning was meticulous and big plans were in the works for 2020.
Unfortunately, after the launch in October 2020, the other partners involved went turn-coat and began selling their tokens instead of helping to bootstrap the project with stability & sustainability. After they destroyed the credibility of the project that he thought they were all in together he moved on and found other pursuits that merited his energy; never to touch the project again. However, one of his partners still remained with access to the project.
The project eventually died out and sat there for the following few years until 2023… when Pepe-Mania took hold in the midst of the bear market and saw @pepecoineth launch to $1.9billion marketcap all-time high’s (ath). The OG Pepe followed suit and (depending on what timeframe and platform you look at the chart on) wicked to an ATH of $320–$490 per $Pepe, around $9–12million marketcap area. During this period, the ex-partner that stuck around continued to sell and farm other buyers until the hype died out. Now, why did people get fleeced?… the ex-partner had knowledge of how the entire ecosystem was supposed to function…No one else did. He used this to his unethical advantage and essentially created a Pepe & Wojak loophole (but within the construct of the code) where he was able to use the Wojak to mint more Pepe’s.
Fast forwarding to October 2023. A community formed around the First Pepe and even though some people saw the previous mints, they hadn’t been really touched and decided to take the risk and assume it was just a reward contract that hits at certain times from old code that the dev lost the keys for. Many of us came in late to the project & without really doing a deep dive, since most people in crypto are not on-chain savants (myself included… friend’s Gyoza bot hit on it and he shared & I fell in love with the strength of the narrative, tokenomics & blockchain history). But over the course of the weeks previous, we have migrated telegrams, created a new website, instituted NFT’s to fund the community wallet for marketing & upkeep…. It has been a ride.
Most of us woke up one morning, about a week and a half into November, where the Deployer wallet had minted another 14–15k tokens. The ex-partner then began slow selling a bit and moving through different wallets. We were out to find the Dev with torches and pitchforks and did manage to find the ex-partner, but blocked/muted/noncommunicable…. we did not know there was another Dev or the scope of the project.
While this was going on for the community, the Original Dev, as aforementioned at the beginning, had focused his skills and energy elsewhere. He wishes to remain un-dox’d & we do have communication channels with him, but he moved into the role of a Cryptocurrency Professor/Consultant… which he has built a respected reputation and frequents the European Blockchain Conventions & Expos, as well as being a part of many other blockchain projects in the industry. He just so happened to be at an event that week (he asked to have which one removed) & upon showing some old projects or explaining etherscan (….somehow it came up….) that he saw $Pepe and $Wojak had over 10k tx’s…. He was extremely surprised that someone had been utilizing the project which he had walked away from. He looked it up on dextools & saw the Pepe project page had been updated (by Kingtoshi & community- that’s us)… Kingtoshi had been in contact with Dextools through his contact for the updates and the Professor Dev found his way to getting in touch with that person to put him in contact with Kingtoshi. Once able to contact Kingtoshi and find what was actually going on with the community he was disappointed that his ex-friend had been minting on everyone through the code. The Professor Dev contacted the partner and agreed to buy the remaining Wojak tokens from him so he was not able to mint anymore Pepe through the reward contract embedded in the code at the time.
The Professor Dev & Kingtoshi both dox’d themselves to each other over a voice call and the Dev offered his apologies to the community that this had happened, as he “had never wished for any of this to affect people financially. He asked to give him some time to finish up the Conference, travel, follow-up w/ contacts made, etc…. but he promised he would work with the community to find a resolution to move forward intact. The Professor Dev had floated the idea of possibly reigniting the Original Project’s Vision or to just burn the remaining Wojak and Pepe so they can run as their own separate projects. So far it has leaned in the direction of just separating the projects as of now from the github.
We are basically up to the present in this timeline. A few days ago the Dev burnt 9k Pepe’s and placed 1,000 Pepe’s in a 4–5 wallets for the community to use in the future for Marketing, listings, etc. They would be “on hold” for us and given to the community as voted on. The Professor Dev also changed the difficulty on the code of wojak.farm to near impossible to mint any more Pepe through that route/previous knowledge.
The Project, unfortunately, the way it is coded is not able to be renounced in the sense we know of it today because it is not a “simple erc token” like any average person can launch today …. it was meant to work in tandem with the ecosystem. Chad had not been implemented yet it seems from looking at it from my angle, so the focus was just the first PEPE & WOJAK.…. Kingtoshi and the Professor Dev are in contact with dox’d phone numbers and socials so as to continue to the benefit of everyone.
I will continue to update this article as more evolves. But as of now, there is no more minting of Pepe in the future, from the time of the changing of the code (There could be a residual mint possible in the future if something was already in process up to the point of changing it ….but I have no way of seeing personally, if someone is able please let me know), the Professor Dev is happy to assist the community with any tools, knowledge, contacts, or assistance that we may need in the future, and the journey will continue as transparent as I can share it to everyone.
Below I have added all the possible Screenshots & links to assist in us further DYOR. Felt that adding them in the article above would be a little too cluttered.
*We have conducted a VC that is pinned in our Telegram with Kingtoshi & our Translator which is where most of this info was derived. It could be more useful as there was a lot of information to that I tried to summarize and add here: https://t.me/OgPeperc20
OG Pepe Website: ogpepe.io
The GITHUB w/ all the code & activity: https://github.com/wojakpepechad?tab=repositories
(Above) Dextools audit of Wojak.Farm shows as clean. This is key to trusting the originating code is performing as it should. Further verification should be run to dyor.

Chad Ca: 0x9723CA5B7F45F2c21aFa2C31f5696A4e1b851e77
Project CA receiving the mints from Wojak.Farm initially & now claimed to be in control by the Professor Dev, dyor (please note the mints are only specific to this wallet because it was the only address using Wojak, if the project was to resume this mint would be going to the individual wallets using the projects as normal): 0x2d98e72D82060549fA8464d6959d9919A2613230
If anything, this goes to show the danger of losing history through the years & how the people that know history can effectively profit and avoid repeating it to their detriment. I hope this helps in aiding everyone deciding on their financial future.
